Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about posting, moderating, and reading reviews. If your question is not answered here, use the contact emails at the bottom of the page.

How do I submit a review?
Scroll to the Share Your Story form on the homepage or visit the Write a Review page. Enter your title, ship, destination, sailing date, star rating, name, email, and your story. No account is required. After you submit, you will see a confirmation message and your review enters our moderation queue.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Readers and reviewers never need an account. Only site moderators sign in to approve, reject, or remove reviews.
Will my email address be published?
No. Your email is used only to verify your submission, handle appeals, and let you request a deletion. It is stored privately and is visible only to moderators. The name you enter is shown publicly beside your review, so feel free to use a first name or initials if you prefer.
How long does moderation take?
Reviews are usually reviewed within 24 to 48 hours. We read each submission to confirm it is a genuine cruise story and meets our content standards before it appears publicly.
Why was my review rejected?
A review may be rejected if it is blank, unrelated to a Holland America cruise, contains hate speech, threats, private information about another person, spam, or clearly false claims. We also reject duplicate submissions. If your review is rejected, you may appeal by emailing moderation@consumerhub.org from the same address you used to submit it.
Can I edit or delete my review?
Because reviews are moderated and published quickly, we do not offer self-service editing. To correct or remove your review, email moderation@consumerhub.org from the email address you used when submitting. Include your name, ship, destination, and the approximate submission date. We never charge to remove a review.
How do I report an inappropriate review?
Click the Report button on any review card or review detail page. Choose a reason, such as harassment, false information, or spam, and submit the form. Moderators review every report and may remove the review if it violates our policies.
Are reviews verified?
Reviews are unverified personal accounts. We do not require booking receipts or boarding passes. We moderate for relevance, honesty in tone, and compliance with our content rules, but we cannot independently confirm every detail of every story.
Is VoyageTrust affiliated with Holland America Line?
No. VoyageTrust is an independent review platform. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Holland America Line, Carnival Corporation, or any cruise operator. Company and ship names appear only as plain text to identify the cruise being reviewed. Read our full Disclaimer.
What star rating should I choose?
Our scale runs from 0 to 5 stars. Zero stars means a very negative experience, 3 stars is mixed or average, and 5 stars is excellent. Choose the rating that best matches your overall cruise experience.
What makes a good review?
The most helpful reviews describe the ship, destination, cabin, dining, service, excursions, and anything that surprised you. Specific dates, room categories, and port names help other readers. Keep your language respectful and avoid naming crew members or other passengers in a way that could identify them.
Can cruise lines pay to remove or change reviews?
No. We do not accept payment from cruise lines or travel agencies to edit, remove, or promote reviews. Our moderation decisions are based solely on our published review policy.
How do I contact you?
